San Diego Unified School District Police partner with Crime Stoppers and sponsor Hollandia Dairy, San Diego County Credit Union, and Cox Communications to empower students to mMake Schools, communities safer
WHAT: Media are invited to attend the Scripps Ranch High School “Students Speaking Out” awareness assembly presented by San Diego Unified School Police Officer Bradley Soto and Crime Stoppers. Assembly will be followed by the unveiling of the new Students Speaking Out vehicle.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 7, 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
WHERE: Scripps Ranch High School, 10410 Falcon Way, San Diego, CA 92131
DETAILS: Students Speaking Out, is a partnership between school districts, law enforcement agencies, and Crime Stoppers. The program serves 180,000 students, with Crime Stoppers depending on the commitment of schools to effectively implement the program. Through partnership and communication, the program can help to make schools safer by “Keeping kids safer one tip at a time.”
The San Diego Unified Police Services Department, in collaboration with the Integrated Youth Services Division, is holding a Public Service Announcement Video campaign. Students have until Jan. 31 to create a 30-second PSA video and enter it into the contest. The goal of this campaign is to encourage and empower each student to report suspicious and/or criminal activities happening on our school campuses to law enforcement, school staff, anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers or by using the Crime Stoppers P3 App. Past videos can be viewed at:
