San Diego Unified School District

The earliest version of the upcoming year's LCAP is available during May for review and input.

This early version (refered to as the "Drafty Draft") gives stakeholders the opportunity to see where the district is going with proposed actions and services.

Area Superintendents have presented or will be presenting this early version at Cluster meetings throughout May. At these meetings, the district is providing iPads pre-loaded with survey questions so individuals can give feedback on the spot.

If individuals are unable to attend their Cluster meeting, they can also provide feedback online or attend the May 20 LCAP Planning Team meeting at the Ballard Parent Center. Feedback on the early draft will be accepted through May 31.

The district will use the responses to identify trends and themes in stakeholder comments and may adjust the LCAP accordingly, which then becomes the "First Draft." The Board will see the "First Draft" at the June 6 Board workshop, which is also open to the public.

The "Final Draft" is then prepared for first reading on June 13 (along with the 2017-18 budget), and is presented to the Board on June 27 for adoption, also in conjunction with the budget.

The early version is available directly using this link or by visiting the district's LCAP page and looking under "Documents/2017-18 "Drafty Draft."
