Mental Health Awareness Month

It's Time!

It's time to take action for individuals and families living with mental illness. One in four adults or roughly 60 million Americans live with mental illness in their lives. It's time to provide support, educate our peers, and end the stigma of living with a mental illness.

What is Mental Health Awareness Month?

Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed during the month of May in the United States since 1949, reaching millions of people in the United States through the media, local events, and screenings. This May, San Diego Unified School District joins the rest of the country to raise awareness around mental health. Each year we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families. Many of our students, staff, families, and communities are affected by mental illness. Join us this month to educate, support, and end the stigma.
