Spanish

Spanish 1/2 is a year long elective. It is only available to 7th or 8th graders. The basics of Spanish language as spoken in Latin America. Students learn greetings verb conjugations, basic vocabulary, pronunciation, and grammatical structures. Students develop a beginning reading and conversational ability, laying a foundation for further study of the language. This elective is worth high school credit.

Spanish 3/4 is also a year long elective. The principles taught in Spanish 1/2 are expanded upon in order to develop speaking, reading, listening and writing skills more fully. The course expands on key grammatical points including past tenses, perfect tenses, commands, and the subjunctive mood. Students learn about the civilizations of both Spain and Latin America. This elective is worth high school credit. Spanish is taught by Ms. Thomas
