Beginning Band
Beginning Band is open to all students who are interested in learning a Band instrument. A Band instrument is an instrument you would typically see in a marching band. Beginning Band starts with very basic instrumental instruction and becomes more advanced as the year progresses. Individual technique is emphasized as is playing together in a large group. Beginning Band performs two concerts in the Marston auditorium twice yearly, once in December and once in June.
A limited supply of instruments are available for Marston students to borrow for the year. Students are also encouraged to acquire an instrument as early as possible from local music stores.
Intermediate/Advanced Band
Intermediate/Advanced Band is open to all students who have graduated Beginning Band or who transfer from another middle school. A mastery of basic scales and techniques are required to join Intermediate/Advanced Band. The group performs several concerts per year.

Orchestra
Orchestra is open to all students who desire to learn a stringed instrument. The class includes beginning and intermediate students who wish to expand their musical skills. Orchestra starts with very basic instrumental instruction and becomes more advanced as the year progresses. Individual technique is emphasized as is playing together in a large group. Jazz Band
Jazz Band is during Advisory class. Students who show a strong desire to play music are invited by the Jazz teacher to join Jazz Band. Jazz Band students must be currently enrolled in a Band class. The group performs several concerts per year.
