On Tuesday, September 12, 2017, the San Diego Unified School District passed a resolution proclaiming the week of September 15 through October 15, 2017, as National Hispanic Heritage Month and encourages teachers, other staff members, students, and the community to use this opportunity to honor the contributions of the Latino population.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Week and ahead of Mexican Independence day San Diego Unified would like to recognize the achievements of our Hispanic Students throughout the District with a multi-cultural celebration at Rosa Parks Elementary School.

  • The San Diego Unified School District Seal of Bi-literacy was awarded to 516 students in 2017, up from 463 in 2016
