Working Together for Quality Schools in Every Neighborhood

On February 4, 2014, the Board of Education and Superintendent Cindy Marten adopted a Resolution. It called for both to jointly conduct forums to engage stakeholder participation and gather the community voice to impact the critical decisions that would be made in 2014, such as the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the budgeting process, labor relations and federal budget implications.

Student, parent, employee, community and other stakeholder voices and feedback were needed to inform the academic programs and instruction necessary for community-based school reform and Vision 2020.

A total of five “Vision 2020: Dream Big Together” forums were held, one in each of the Board Trustee sub-district areas. The dates and locations for the forums were as follows:

  • Memorial Prep Academy - Sub-district D (Richard Barrera)
    February 7, 2014
  • Mission Bay High School - Sub-district C (Scott Barnett)
    February 24, 2014
  • Patrick Henry High School - Sub-district B (Kevin Beiser)
