Accompanied by faculty and staff, 24 high school students from SCPA recently attended the National High School Dance Festival. The three-day festival (February 26 to March 1) was held at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA.

The festival consisted of master classes, lectures, meetings with college/company recruiters, a scholarship audition, and multiple dance concerts by other schools and professional dance companies. Students took a variety of classes from master teachers (from universities, dance companies, ballet schools/companies), on topics including ballet, modern, contemporary, hip-hop, pointe, improvisation, tap, choreography, and more. In one of the seven dance concert performances, SCPA students performed Vincent Hardy's Reconstruction.

Ten dancers participated in the Scholarship Audition in front of college, summer program, and company recruiters. All ten dancers received scholarships and acceptances into 48 of the most reputable programs in the nation, such as U of Arts, Mercyhurst University, Ruth Page School of Dance, Rutgers, and Joffrey Ballet School.
