Spanish 1,2 (first year)
Spanish 3,4 (second year)
Spanish classes are year-long high school equivalent courses open to 7th and 8th grade students who are academically ready to get an early start in meeting A-G high school requirements, as well as meeting the foreign language requirement for admission to California colleges and universities.
The Spanish class is designed to help students communicate effectively through language acquisition. Students are encouraged and motivated to develop fluency through comprehensible input and participation in a variety of interactive activities. Oral communication is the emphasis, but students will also gain knowledge and understanding of other cultures, connect with other disciplines and acquire information, develop insight into the nature of language and culture, and participate in multicultural communities within and beyond the school setting.
