Overview

Student Registration Information for the 2019-2020 School Year

Incoming 6th grade student from Walker, Ericson, Mason,  and Hage or a returning Wangenheim student - articulation/registration to Wangenheim is automatic.  You will still need to complete enrollment paperwork to begin the year.  If you have any concerns about registration for your fifth grader, you may call Annette Stevens (858) 578-1400 ext 2807. 

Early enrollment packets are available: July 16th, 12:00pm - 5:00pm; July 24th, 2:00pm - 8:00pm; August 1st, 12:00pm - 5:00pm.  

Regular office hours resume August 8th, 8:00am - 2:00pm

If you are a new student:

You may look at the district's School Finder website to check your address in order to find your neighborhood school.  If you do not live within the Wangenheim  neighborhood boundaries and would like to have your child's name on a waitlist, please complete an Enrollment Options application.  An application does not guarantee enrollment - it only places your child's name on the waitlist.  If you have additional questions, please contact the Enrollment Options Office at (619) 725-5672.

New Students Living Within Wangenheim Boundaries - Please look at the information listed below for a list of documents you will need to bring with you to register your child for the coming school year.

Registration Procedures

 
You must come to the school office to register your student between 8am - 2pm by Monday, August 12th in order to get your student's schedule by orientation.  Please allow yourself about an hour to complete the registration packet.  Please bring the following with you:
 
1. Proof of birth (birth certificate or passport)
2. Copy of complete immunization record with dates - please see Tdap information on our website
        Please note: A new California state law requires students to have a new booster shot called Tdap to protect
        them from Pertussis (Whooping Cough) which is an epidemic in California.  Students in grades 7-12 who do not 
        have this new shot will not be allowed to start school until it has been updated. 
3. Current report card, transcript or withdrawal grades
4. Copy of 1 of any of the following documents to establish residence with in Wangenheim's neighborhood area:
  • a recent utility bill (SDG&E, land-line phone, water or cable)
  • a rental agreement
  • property tax payment receipts
  • mortgage documents
  • military housing orders

Please also bring the following if they apply to your child:

  • IEP for students in the Special Education Program
  • Gifted Test Results (GATE Program)
  • 504 Plan

 2019-2020 Student Orientation Dates

6th Grade Orientation: August 22, 2018  8:00-9:30 am

7th/8th Grade Orientation: August 23, 2018  8:00-9:30 am
