Mental Health Awareness Week!

Challenger and Wangenheim undertook a new challenge together.  Both schools partnered in the development and scheduling of aligned Mental Health lessons during our morning Advisory times.  The week began with a video featuring both schools' principals and ended with each school conducting a whole school activity.  During the week's Advisory lessons, students learned what Mental Health is, why it is important to maintain, and some specific tools and strategies to accomplish this.  Our definition of mental health came from Mental Health.gov, which is the wesite of the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services.

"Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. "
