School Update (11-27-2018)

Get Involved and Stay Informed (11-27-2018)

Principal Olivero here with your weekly school update.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, November 28, will be a late start Wednesday.  We call tomorrow our later start intervention day.  It is a morning time set aside for students to meet with their teachers (from 7:20 am to 8:40 am).  Bus pick up times for tomorrow will be on an early day schedule to make sure students are at school who may want help from their teachers.

The intervention time is designed to allow students the opportunity to speak with their teachers about retaking tests, completing projects, assignments, or maybe completing extra credit work.

The intervention days are planned a week or so before the next grading period.  Please know second progress reporting grades will be sent home Friday, December 7th.

You may recall that many students took the PSAT in October.  We expect to receive back from the College Board our results in late December.  When we get back from winter break, we will make sure your student receives their results along with the test booklet that allows them to know areas of strengths and areas to improve.

While we were on break, the Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams qualified for state by taking the 3rd and 2nd spot at the CIF Championships.  It was back in 2008 the last time both team qualified for state.  Also, the UC Band took 2nd at State earning their top score in school history.  Way to go Cents!

Today is World Vision giving Tuesday.  If you have not already done so, please consider giving to a group that can use various resources to help those around them.  In terms of school, please consider supporting UC EdUCate, UC Centurion Foundation, or to the school’s PTSA. Senior class parents, the Class of 2019 could use your help.  Just some ideas!

Have a great night!  Mr. O.
