School Update (11/15/16)
A big shout out to the Band and Color Guard Team who had a fantastic season of competition. After a very successful year in 2015, they have enhanced their program this year to new levels of historic success. Last year they qualified to be a participant at the STATE Championships, this year they have advanced to the final round on Saturday where their current scores have them in the number one spot. We wish them the very best in Riverside Saturday as they may just bring home a medal or better yet, a STATE Championship. Clap it up!!!
On Thursday, November 17, UCHS will pause to recognize the tremendous partnership we have with our parents. The 17th is National Parent Involvement Day. It’s truly amazing how involved and supportive our parents are at UCHS. Whether this be through booster club support or through school volunteering, we have over 175 signed up to help the school in one form or another. This is truly a gift to our children. Thank you, thank you!
Parents of seniors - please know that Grad Nite is not a school-sponsored event. It is a PTSA event coordinated by parents and community members. The PTSA has asked me to announce on their behalf that tickets for the Grad Nite celebration will be on sale during lunch in the quad all this week from November 14-18. They want you to know that this is the last week that seniors can purchase a ticket at $70. The price will go up to $85 after the 18th.
After school on Friday, November 18th, we will have a week off of school. We will resume our instructional program on Monday, November 28, 2016.
Please know that we are excited to share that while we are off next week, many of our athletic teams will continue to complete in CIF play. Friday night the Centurion Football Team travels to El Centro to compete in the second round of play. Also over the break, Cross Country will be competing for CIF placement for the STATE Championships. We wish our Centurions the very best.
Last, we are extremely thankful to have your student in our school and we wish you and your family a safe and restful Thanksgiving Break!
