School Update (10-31-2017)
Trick or Treat and far out and right on! Principal Olivero here with your Halloween school update.
On Tuesday night, November 7th, at 6:30 pm, we will hold our Winter Sports meeting for parents and coaches. It will be in the auditorium and we will review the tryout process for winter sports and eligibility criteria for selection and participation. All parents of Winter athletes should be in attendance to understand expectations of students, parents and coaches.
Last week we held a LCAP meeting for all interested stakeholders. We will again meet on Wednesday, November 8th, at 2:30 pm, for those who want to provide input for what district programs we recommend continue and record other program that we consider having less importance.
Next Wednesday, November 8th, is another early out intervention day. This is an opportunity to have your student work one-on-one with their teacher to get extra assistance. The intervention time will be between the hours of 1 pm to 2:30 pm. We are ordering extra after school buses to accommodate our transportation students and their needs.
And last, this Friday will be a big game our 8-1 Centurion football team. They take on La Jolla High School and it is the last game before heading into the playoffs. With a win, the Cents will earn a league title and a high seed for the CIF playoff. Just to know, the game will be a white out. So wear white and show unity for your school and team. Also, UCHS will be featured on KUSI Friday morning Pep Rally Alarm Clock. That’s right, at 7:00 am we need to have our gym full of UCHS students screaming UC U-Know for the television crew who will be promoting the big game against La Jolla.
Have a great week and we wish our girls volleyball, boys water polo, girls tennis, cross country, and field hockey the very best as they enter CIF playoffs this week. Also to our band and color guard who again took first at last weekend’s field tournament at Mt. Carmel High School
