School Update (10-25-2016)
Good evening, Principal Olivero here with your school update.
Boo! That’s right it’s about one week away and we want to send this message out in advance that while some like to come in costume, I might even do so, all dress code requirements must be met. In other words, just because it’s in Party City Catalog, does not mean it’s ok to wear to school. No- short skirts, revealing outfits, play guns, drug promotion outfits, masks, etc. Students dressed inappropriately will be asked to call their parents to bring them appropriate clothing.
Listen up if your student is participating in a winter sport. The deadline to turn in Athletic Packets to Dr. Brian Josten, AD, for all winter sports is Wednesday, NOV. 9TH. Winter sports are: Boy’s and Girl’s Basketball, Boy’s and Girl’s Soccer, Girl’s Water Polo and Wrestling. Dr. Josten can be found in room B-19.
Also related to Winter Sports, all parents of student participating in a winter sport should attend an important meeting with the AD and all coaches on Thursday, Nov. 3rd, at 7:15 pm.
This Thursday, October 27th, from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm, we will have school tours for perspective new students and families thinking about attending UCHS next year. Please let interested families know. Our school website has additional information.
Thursday night, at 6pm, the school will hold their annual Mr. Centurion event. It starts at 6pm in the gym and is a fundraiser for the senior class.
I want to encourage all to sign up for a twitter account if you don’t already have one. I have a school account that I frequently post the latest greatest events happening in real time at school. I request all follow me at Jeff Olivero@MrOatUCHS as I find it useful to also use in case of an emergency and I need to let people know what’s happening at school. For instance, several years back school was cancelled because of the fires in north county and I was able to let everyone know ASAP. So for safety reasons, I ask that you have an account. That’s Jeff livero@MrOatUCHS .
Last, a clap it up for Band, Percussion and Color Guard all took first place at last weekend’s competition at Mt. Carmel High School. Our cross country teams also did extremely well at the world famous Mt. Sac invitational last Friday. We also wish our sand volleyball team well as they host the second round of championship play after school tomorrow at UCHS.
Have a great week. Mr. O.
