School Update (10-24-2017)

Good evening, Principal Olivero here with your school update.

That’s right, the heat is on.  Hang in there folks!

Just a reminder, tomorrow, Wednesday, October 25th is a full day of instruction.

This Thursday, at 2:50 pm, we will be holding a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) meeting for all stakeholders.  Everyone should know that this year the district had to cut $124 million from the 1.3 billion dollar budget.  Next school year the district will have to cut another $50 million from the budget.  We ask that all School Site Council members as well as School Site Governance Team members be present to provide feedback to determine funding priorities for the district.  Also, all parents and students are invited to participate in this meeting as well. This meeting will be held in the media center.

On Thursday, October 26, 2017, at 10:00 am, we will hold a school tour for prospective new students/parents for next year. Please spread the word and let interested families know we will be meeting by the flag pole at the front of the school. We will also hold one on Monday, November 6, 2017, at 12:30 pm, at the flag pole.

An last, Boo!  That’s right it’s about one week away and we want to send this message out in advance that while some like to come in costume to school, I might even do so, all dress code requirements must be met.  In other words, just because it’s in Party City Catalog, does not mean it’s ok to wear to school. No- short skirts, revealing outfits, play guns, drug promotion outfits, masks, etc.  Students dressed inappropriately will be asked to call their parents to bring them appropriate clothing. Please check the school website for a flyer outlining this information.

Have a great week and remember…the heat is on!  Mr. O.
