Get Involved and Stay Informed (10-03-2017)
Principal Olivero here with your weekly school update.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4th, is a busy one so please listen up.
As a reminder, tomorrow is an early out day and students will be able to meet with their teachers from 1 pm to 2:30 pm. The support time is designed to allow students the opportunity to speak with their teachers about retaking tests, completing projects, assignments, or maybe completing extra credit work? Please know we have canceled all athletic and extracurricular activities during these times to allow students a means to meet with their teachers. We have also scheduled extra after school buses to make sure students have a way home after the scheduled support time.
Also during the school day on Wednesday, students will be given their annual Federal Survey cards to take home to be completed by parents. Just to know, the Federal Survey cards are now printed as a paper. The paper should have your student’s name printed on them. We need the papers back to school the next day if at all possible. You can imagine how hard it is to get back 1900 papers back from busy students and parents. Please help us by making sure we get the cards back completed so that we do not have to call your student in to track down the missing card. Just to know, the school district earns a considerable amount of funding based on the connected and workplaces to the military from our families. As a result, we need a paper back from each student.
Lastly, tomorrow night, the Counseling Department will hold their annual College Night and Financial Aid night in the auditorium starting at 6pm. It is mostly for seniors, but parents of juniors can be there as well.
On Thursday night, October 5th, the PTSA will hold their monthly meeting in the media center at 6pm. Following this, I will do a brief Principal Chat, which will be followed by the Senior Grad Party meeting.
Have a good evening and hope to see you Wednesday and Thursday evening. -Mr. O.
