School Update (05-28-2019)

Get Involved and Stay Informed (05-21-2019)

Principal Olivero here with the weekly school update.

As mentioned last week all are requested to read the letter posted on the school website under school news that shares information about the water testing happening in schools.  The district will be having a parent meeting Thursday night, May 30th, at 6 pm in the media center to share the testing results for UCHS.  Please feel invited to attend this meeting.

Please know that we have a bit of a different schedule this week.  Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 29, will be a regular school start time at 7:24 am for common core testing.  We will have block scheduling for both Wednesday and Thursday this week.  While all juniors will be taking the state mandated testing in math, the seniors will be treated to a series of speakers that will relay information pertaining to life skills. Some of the speakers lined up for the seniors are financial literacy, communication skills, health and life care planning, drugs and their impact on communities, managing mental health care, and yes, making sure there is consent when engaging in a relationship.

On Friday, May 31st, we will have late start this day.  School will start at 8:50 am.  This will be fun day as we will have our student clubs perform at our end of the year showcase in the gym.  It’s a great opportunity to watch and appreciate the hard work of our dance teams, JROTC, and other school performers.

Things will start speeding up as we make our way towards the end of the school year.  I will do my best to keep you all informed.

Have a great short week.  Mr. O.
