Get Involved and Stay Informed (03-05-2019)
Principal Olivero here with you weekly call out.
The call is coming out a bit early tonight as we have our annual Spring Music Concert happening tonight in the Auditorium at 7 pm.
If students and parents have not already taken the school start time survey, now is the time to do so. The survey will be pulled down on Thursday. The survey is posted on the school’s main web page and we ask that we receive feedback from each student and each parent.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, March 6th, the late start morning is set up to be another intervention day. This means students can come to school early to meet with their teachers to make up assignments, tests, and get extra help. Teachers will be available to help students tomorrow from 7:20 am to 8:40 am.
This Friday, March 8th, the PTSA will be holding their monthly meeting. The meeting will start at 7:15 am. At the morning gathering, our School Police Officer, Tom Gray, will be on hand to speak about school safety and teen safety on the road. On Thursday, March 14th, we will hold a parent meeting designed to talk about teen driving and students on March 21st will see an interactive assembly related to teen driving safety. At the meeting on Friday, I will also provide an overview for the upcoming WASC visit slatted for Monday, March 18th. All high schools have WASC reviews and we will have visitors for the day from this group on March18th.
March 20th, will be a late start Wednesday. It had been scheduled to be a regular school start time, but we are changing it in that there were some Wednesdays in May that were supposed to have been late start, but will not be because of SBAC (Common Core) testing. We are basically switching out some Weds. I will keep you posted for the changes as we get closer to May. But please know that Wednesday, March 20th is now a late start Wednesday.
Last, a little birdie told me that we may just have one of our very own Centurions auditioning for American Idol this coming Sunday night at 8 pm. Check it out! Have a good evening! Mr. O
