School Update (02-12-2019)

Get Involved and Stay Informed (02-12-2019)

Principal Olivero here with you weekly call out.

Reminding everyone that there will not be school on Friday, February 15th,

or Monday, February 18th, as we will be off to celebrate Presidents’ Days.

Just to update everyone, there will soon be a survey out that asks students, parents, and staff a number of questions about possible late school start time options. The School Site Governance Team met on Monday and feel they need a little bit more information before deciding what type of schedule to go to next year.  In discussing scheduling options, it was clear to SSGT members that there are a lot of pros and cons to any schedule created. With this in mind, the SSGT will be providing access to a survey and we hope all will participate and provide feedback.  I will let you know when it is up and posted for our stakeholders.

We have a lot of teams heading into CIF competition this week and we wish them all the best.  Girls Water Polo plays in a Semifinal match today at 5:45 pm. Boys Soccer plays today in the stadium at 5 pm. Girls Basketball plays tonight in our gym at 7:00 pm. Tomorrow night our Boys Basketball Team plays at 7 pm in our gym. Last weekend we had two wrestlers who earned runner-up spots for CIF Championships and one student who became the heavyweight champ in his weight division. Last, two of our Robotics team have qualified for regionals and took 2nd second place at the qualifying competition last weekend. This week we also learned we had one senior who earned Finalist status for the distinguished National Merit Award.

Congratulations to our Centurions and we hope all will consider coming out to a game or match this week..

Have a great week!   Mr. O.
