School Update (01-27-2020)
Principal Olivero here with this week’s school update.
Today we started the first day of the second semester. First semester grades will be mailed home by the district which usually takes around two weeks. On Friday semester grades will be available online using ParentConnect.
Tomorrow, January 28, 2020, both the School Council and School Site Governance will be meeting. The SSC will review the school’s Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) for 2019-2020 school year and this meeting will start at 2:30 pm. The SSGT/SSC meeting will begin at 3:15 pm and we will use this time to have conversations around how best to support teaching and learning for the 2020-2021 school year. At the meeting we will discuss projected funding levels for next year. All are invited to these meetings as stakeholder representatives will learn what master schedule changes are anticipated as the school is to have around 30 less students next year. The meeting after school tomorrow will be in the principal’s conference room.
We had a meeting with next year’s seniors and incoming freshmen and it looks like many are requesting 6th period athletics and one less elective course as a result of the healthy start time change for next year.
This Wednesday, January 29, 2020, will be a full day of instruction. School will let out at 2:18 pm.
This Thursday, January 30th, will be the 10th graders turn for scheduling. Counselors will be going to all 10th grade English classes on Thursday and we will hold a meeting for all tenth grade parents Thursday night in the auditorium, starting at 6pm. Counselors will review course options for the 2020-21 school year.
