Get Involved and Stay Informed (01-13-2017)
Good Evening! Principal Olivero here with your weekend update. And at the end of this message, if you are willing, I would like up to remind you why we do not have school on Monday.
Semester finals will take place January 25th, 26th, and 27th.
In preparation for semester finals, we will use the early out day on Wednesday, Jan. 18th, to allow students the time to meet individually with their teachers. Students from the hours of 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm can meet with their teachers to talk about completing projects, assignments, or maybe completing extra work? Please know that we will order extra late activity buses to allow our students a means to use this time to meet with teachers if needed.
On the evening of the 19th, UCs ArtsTECH academy would like to invite parents of potential ArtsTECH students to an informational presentation from 6 – 7:30 PM in the library. The meeting provides parents of current students with information to better assist in determining whether ArtsTECH Academy might be a good path for their student. The presentation includes a tour its studios and its impressive media tools.
On the evening of February 1st, from 6 to 7pm, UCs Guidance Department will be holding a meeting for parents of all current 9th, 10th and 11th graders. The school’s counselors will be sharing information about what courses to select next year. As a change, students and parents will be given access to go online to make course requests.
Last, we are very grateful to have school off on Monday to celebrate the life and accomplishments of Martin Luther King. I love his speech, “If I had sneezed.”
Have a great weekend and remember, we can’t afford to sneeze. Mr. O.
