School Closure Update #22 Senior Information (Friday, May 15, 2020)
Dear UCHS School Community and specifically to the Class of 2020,
San Diego Unified and your senior class representatives empathize with you and your families during this time. We are in this together. We understand the significance and importance of each and every milestone during the senior year. Your senior class representatives have expressed their deepest desire to maintain the possibility of postponing a traditional graduation ceremony, for a later datethis summer when it has been deemed safe to hold such events.
As that possibility remains uncertain, your senior class representatives support the planning and designing of a celebrationon or before June 9th for every high school in the district, with the hope that a traditional graduation ceremony could be held at a later time. With this in mind, principals will collaborate with your senior class representatives to begin to plan the best possible way to celebrate the Class of 2020 on or before June 9th that will allow for each and every one of youto be recognized. If an in-person ceremony can be safely held before the end of the summer, I will share further communication with families including specific details for our school site.
We appreciate your support during this process and know that youare, and will always be, close to our hearts as we celebrate your accomplishments.
With appreciation, Principal Olivero
