Scholl Update (03-12-2019)

Get Involved and Stay Informed (03-12-2019)

Principal Olivero here with another school update for the week.

This Thursday night, March 14th, at 6:00 pm, the PTSA and school will be hosting a parent/teen workshop presented by the California Highway Patrol and Scripps Memorial Hospital.

The topic for the workshop is helping to Impact Teen drivers.  Each year we get another group of students who turn of age to get their driver’s license. As parents we can only hope our young drivers obey the driving laws and make wise decisions. It scares us as we know teen driving is the number one killer for their age group.

This presentation is being headed by two of young Centurions who are concerned about their classmates. The workshop will explain the GDL (Graduated Drivers Licensing Laws, strategies to keep kids safe, etc.  Distracted driving is a preventable.  Parents have the main influence with regards to teen attitudes, behaviors and driving habits.  Please feel invited if you have a teen driver and wish to know the latest.  It could save a life!

This student/parent presentation will be followed by Grade Level Assemblies next week on March 21st.  Students will receive more information where there will be more of an interactive presentation.

This Saturday, March 16th, will be the JROTC Ball at Town and Country Hotel in Mission Valley. This will be a great evening for our participating cadets.

And last, as a reminder, next Wednesday, March 20th, will be a late start day.

Have a great week!   Mr. O.
