Holiday School Update (11-25-2015)

Excuse this call but Principal Olivero here with a holiday school update.

We are proud to announce to the UC community that their high school is doing well.  Not only does the high boast some of the highest test scores in the county, our UC students are thriving in all extracurricular areas.  This fall all sporting teams qualified for CIF competition.  Last weekend the Cross County teams did exceptionally well.

-The boys’ team ended up 4th in the division 3 race and missed state by two points. The state qualifying boys were Allen Siegler and Niko Chapman.

-The girls’ team ended their great run as the 8th best team in the county overall, and our sophomore sensation Elise Boisvert was the 6th fastest individual all day, all divisions!  She's has a legitimate shot to finish top 10 at state. The girls’ team did so well that they have qualified to compete at state championships this weekend.

Also last weekend, the school's Band and Color Guard team qualified for the first time for state competition.  Standley Middle School and UCHS has the top music programs in the district and on Saturday, UCHS's band and Color Guard took 5th in the state competition.  This is truly remarkable!

And last, we are proud and excited to announce that this Friday night UCHS will host their first ever semifinal football game.  Please see Tuesday’s Union Tribune article for more information about this year's history making football team.  Please consider coming to the game at 7pm as we need the 12th player, the UC fans, to help us continue to make history.

Too all, please know how grateful and thankful we are to serve and support our UC students and their families.  The support we receive is amazing!

So as we head towards another big weekend of CIF competition, I ask that the phone to be handed to your student. I.  I believe.  I believe we.  I believe we will.  I believe we will win!  UC U-Know!
