Call Out to the C21s (01-27-2019)
Hello Class of 2021 students and parents. Coach Olivero here with a special call out. This coming Thursday night, January 31st, we will be holding our articulation night for all sophomore students and their parents at 6pm. It will be held in the school’s auditorium.
Also on Thursday, our counselors will be going out to all 10th grade English classes to talk to our C21s about classes for next year.
As you may recall, our goal is to graduate with the same number of C21s that started their 9th grade year at UCHS. Typically over a four year period we lose around 100 students between the start of 9th grade year and graduation. When we started last year with 492 9th graders. On Friday we concluded our fall semester 468 10th graders. This means we have lost or reduced the number of C21s by 24 students. While some families just move away for a variety of reasons, please know that we continue to seek options to keep our students earning credits and on track for graduation.
I encourage everyone to attend the meeting this Thursday night as I will provide a brief pep talk. Our C21s will be making plans for their important junior year and I want to make sure all know what’s ahead and have their questions answered.
Because we will be meeting and I am the class advisor for the Class of 21, I can’t let the opportunity pass without requesting that for those families able, which is totally voluntary, to bring to the meeting $20 dollars. The funds collected will go towards the C21s senior year activities. Clap it up!!
We will start the spring semester tomorrow. See you all Thursday night at 6 pm.
