Class of 2020 Summer Online Graduation (07-16-2020)
Good evening Class of 2020 and their family and friends,
Tomorrow, Friday, July 17th at 12pm, we will post the UCHS Class of 2020 Online Graduation Ceremony.
As shared prior, many of the speeches, including mine, were prepared on campus back in late May so that we could reach students and staff while they were still in town and on campus.
I want to thank some key people who helped pull together the online graduation. First, to Mr. Brad Liber, who had help from a few of his video production students. I also want to thank Vice Principal Alex Villalobos for putting the all pieces together, Sarah Myers for helping with coordination, and of course seniors for contributing their parts.
As a reminder, we will hold a drive-through for seniors tomorrow who still need to turn in their caps, gowns, and tassels, and/or pick up their diploma. We will also distribute yearbooks to the seniors who haven’t picked up their copy. Last names A-L should come between the hours of 1:00 pm to 2:15 pm and last names M-Z should come between the hours of 2:15 pm and 3:30 pm.
The location for seniors will be the outside door of the Media Center facing the student parking lot. Students and parents must stay in their cars the entire time. We will collect and distribute items along the parking lot curb. Seniors need to clear all debts for items owed to the school before collecting their diplomas. You can check to see if you have any debts to clear in advance by going to the home page of the school website and clicking on the “Library: Know What You Owe” link. Our finance clerk will be on campus to collect payment for items owed.
Our seniors have been recognized for their earned distinctions through our online senior awards ceremony and senior celebration, drive through celebration, and finally the online graduation ceremony. These virtual events will never replace a Prom or having an in-person graduation ceremony, but please know you are the historic Class of 2020! You are appreciated and we will miss you. Make us proud Class of 2020. Stay classy!
