Hello Stakeholder Groups,
Over the last few days, I have been looking at the funding numbers sent our way for next year. I have prepared a spreadsheet (click HERE
to access) showing how the funds were to be spent this year, and have included a new column showing my initial thinking for how best to use our resources for next year.
Please know that no final decision has been made. I will have several planned meetings for stakeholder input as required under new Local Control Funding requirements. The first will be at our SSGT meeting Thursday, February 11, 2016, at 2:30 pm, and the next will be Tuesday, February 16th, at 2:30 pm, and 6:00 pm.
Please know that several years ago the state/district/school had a reduction in funding based on the state economy at the time. As a result, there were a number of staffing positions that were reduced in hours and/or eliminated. With a slight increase in funding coming back to UCHS, my initial thinking is to begin to restore some of these hours that were cut or lost from the school. These restorations would benefit students and the overall ability to support the needs of parents and staff.
