Did you know that last year, Sherman Academy PTA put together the following events:
Movie Night which included complimentary pictures with Santa & gift bags for the kids
Día del Niño
In addition to these events, Sherman PTA awarded each grade level $400 in mini grants, $2,400 TOTAL!!!
This year, there are some amazing events planned and the PTA is also assisting with two new events during the school year! In order to make these events possible, your membership is vital! It’s easy to sign up. Please see Maestra Marmolejo in room 6 to start your membership today.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
Our school's English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), a school-based committee, is required if there are more than 21 English Learners at the school. The Committee's role is to advise the district on programs and services for English Learner students.
School Site Council (SSC)
The School Site Council (SSC) is an elected decision-making group that has an ongoing responsibility to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the site plan. The SSC also oversees all categorical funds such as Title I, Second Language and GATE. The School Site Council is required at all schools in the San Diego Unified School District.
School Site Councils are comprised of parents, community members, and staff, who are selected by each of their constituent groups. At the elementary level, the minimum number of members is ten. The elementary SSC is comprised of half parents and community members (non-district employees); and half school personnel, with classroom teachers in the majority, and one other staff member (not a classroom teacher).
