Senior Announcements:

 

The SRHS Prom is Sat., June 2 at the Natural History Museum, 1788 El Prado, San Diego, 92101.   Are you bringing a non-Scripps Ranch High School student to the prom as a guest? If so, you will need an approved guest pass to buy their ticket.   Guest pass applications and behavior agreements are available in the attendance office.  The form needs to be signed by your guest, by your guest’s administrator, by your parents, and finally, by your Vice Principal.  Deadline to submit guest pass forms to Vice Principals for approval is Wednesday, May 30, 2018.   Tickets go on sale Wednesday, May 9.  The last day to buy prom tickets is Wednesday, May 30 at 2:50 p.m.  Please note that in order to attend the prom, all book debts must be cleared with the library, and you must have a 2.0 GPA citizenship on the May 10 progress report.

 

Prom Ticket Dates/Prices:

May 9 – 11:                         $60 with ASB card, $65 without ASB card

May 14 – 18:                       $65 with ASB card, $70 without ASB card

May 21 – May 30:             $70 with ASB card, $75 without ASB card

Graduation Items           Families wishing to purchase announcements or other graduation keepsakes may do so by contacting  Josten’s at 1-800-567-8367 or www.Jostens.com. All purchases are optional.

Graduating seniors need a cap, gown, and tassel to walk in the ceremony. A cap, gown, and tassel will be provided to all graduating seniors on June 11, 2018. Purchased gowns will be distributed on the same day.  Caps and gowns (unless purchased) must be returned after the ceremony is completed prior to picking up diploma. We recommend families take pictures prior to graduation. Participation in the ceremony is voluntary for those meeting all graduation requirements.    

TRANSCRIPTS Students are allowed THREE (3) free transcripts; additional transcripts are $1.00 each. The accumulated cost of transcripts ordered through Naviance and in person must be paid to the Registrar’s office in May before the Graduation Clearance Slip can be issued. Final transcripts should be ordered first via Naviance and second through the Registrar for applications submitted     electronically. For college applications submitted by mail as well as final transcripts requested for NCAA eligibility, please bring stamped, addressed envelopes to the Registrar’s office before Friday, June 1.

 

THURSDAY, MAY 24 SENIOR AWARDS INVITATIONAL PROGRAM

SRHS Gym from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Invited graduates and their parents attend this program to honor achievements of the Class of 2018. Seniors receiving awards/and or Recognition Certificates will be notified by mail.    

SATURDAY, JUNE 2         SENIOR PROM - 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Prom bids are expected to be on sale at the financial office Wednesday, May 9th afterschool, through Thursday, May 31st. Sale dates are subject to change. Cost of the bids has not yet been determined.

FRIDAY, JUNE 4 COMMENCEMENT TICKET SALE     Tickets will not be sold at the door. On June 7 & 8 each senior will receive TWO (2) complimentary tickets at the Library. Please refer to information listed for June 7 and 8 for complimentary tickets.  Additional tickets may be purchased for $14.00 each - CASH ONLY in the Financial Office, beginning 2:13 p.m., Monday, June 4.  Additional tickets may be purchased only before and after school and during the lunch period.  Tickets may be purchased until 11:45 am on Wednesday, June 13.

 

MONDAY, JUNE 4DISTRIBUTION OF YEARBOOK TO SENIORS ONLY

2:15-3:00 p.m. – Falcon’s Nest (Cafeteria). Current 2017-18 I.D. card required.    

THURSDAY & FRIDAY, JUNE 7 & 8 - CLEARANCE                                                                               

Seniors who have returned all instructional materials AND have cleared all DEBTS may pick up their TWO (2) complimentary graduation tickets in the library from 12 Noon to 2PM.  Students who owe a debt will not receive their diploma until the debt is cleared.  See the Library Technician for options to clear debts.

  • RETURN INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TO LIBRARY.   All books, calculators and other school items are due on or before the LAST FULL SCHOOL DAY FOR SENIORS (JUNE 6th)    

  • SENIORS FINAL EXAMS – Block Schedule – Minimum Days June 7th and 8th

             Seniors report to school by 7:25 a.m., dismissed at 11:30 a.m. These are minimum days.  



MONDAY, JUNE 11 -   CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION  

  • Outside the Counseling Office, 7:25 AM – 11:30 AM.

TUESDAY, JUNE 12 - REHEARSAL FOR COMMENCEMENT  

  • Rehearsals will be held in the gym from 9am to 11:30am. Rehearsal is            MANDATORY for those who plan to participate in the Commencement Ceremony.

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13 - COMMENCEMENT   

  • Viejas Arena, San Diego State University,  Wednesday, June 13, 2018, 6 P.M. 5500 Canyon Crest Drive  San Diego, CA 92182-4210 – Google driving directions.

  • During the Commencement Ceremony, caps and gowns are to be worn over the appropriate dress as discussed in the attachment. Report to Viejas Arena (Lot L) no later than 5:00 p.m. to be checked in and to form lines for the ceremony. Families will be allowed into the Viejas Arena at approximately 5:00 p.m. Admittance to the graduation ceremony will be by ticket only.   No tickets will be sold at the door.

 

COMMENCEMENT PICTURES

DiFranco Photography will take pictures of each senior as he/she receives a diploma. DiFranco Photography will provide each senior and their families with information on how to place an order.  Orders are optional. Families wishing to not have their information released to the graduation photographer need to notify the school in writing no later than March 17, 2018. SENIORS - DEADLINES TO REQUEST TRANSCRIPTS AND LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION:

*For later application due dates, please make sure to request items at least two weeks in advance. Also, remember that these are deadlines but it is still recommended that you turn in items even earlier than these dates.  Counselors DO NOT work during holiday breaks, so do not include any holidays when considering the two week deadline for making requests.

Naviance

Recommendation Letter Request

You should request a transcript for all schools requiring a Letter of Recommendation prior to submitting forms to the Registrar.

Bring the following items to the Registrar

  1. Hard copy of Resume (printed from Naviance).
  2. Hard copy of Senior Information Sheet (printed from Naviance). *Optional
  3. Hard copy of the School Report or other required supplemental form(s).
  4. Complete student portion on form and sign waiver.
  5. Pre-addressed, stamped envelope only when a school indicates documents must be mailed,

Final Step... Request Letter of Recommendation on Naviance!

*Remember to ask in person as well!

IMPORTANT: You must complete the FERPA waiver on the Common Application website (if applying to a Common Application school) and turn in the Multipurpose Authorization Form to the registrar, in order for the school to have permission to send documents.

* Our two-week minimum requirement to write a Letter of Recommendation begins after all items are turned in and you have sent a Letter of Recommendation Request through Naviance.
