District Home

Good afternoon San Diego SCPA Families!

I hope everyone is staying positive and connected during our 2020 Spring break. My heart goes out to the many families that have been adversely affected by this pandemic and am hopeful that we can bounce back with increasing strength and togetherness. We are stronger together!

Please review the important information below:

All San Diego Unified school buildings and office buildings are closed until further notice.

Classes will be moving online.

Academic instruction will formally resume in April as part of the district's Distance Learning plan. The plan outlined by district leaders envisions a gradual return to academic instruction in several phases. Currently, the school district is providing online enrichment activities via the district website and a partnership with public broadcasting. That will change following the end of spring break, on Monday, April 6, 2020.

Beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, SDSCPA teachers will begin receiving training for the move to online instruction, will work remotely with students who are able to participate, and will identify those students who are unable to take part.

PLEASE COMPLETE THE TECHNOLOGY SURVEY ASAP, so we may address your students’ needs. Work done during this time will not be graded for credit but will contribute towards students’ academic progress in the courses they are taking. A formal return to grading and instruction -- but not a return to the physical school environment -- is scheduled for April 27, 2020.

INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES: Please check out our INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES to support our students with continued learning. Our staff has been updating these links daily.

COLLEGE COURSES have started! Our City College courses are online., March. Students enrolled in the City College courses, need to log into Canvas to access their coursework. Courses will continue online for the remainder of the semester with a dark week during Spring Break. If students do not log in or are inactive, our college liaisons will be notified and we will work with the sites to contact students. Please contact our City College Liaison- Kara Teschner for additional information or technology needs.

Again: please complete the Technology Survey if you have technology needs for your student to receive online learning. Our San Diego Unified District and SDSCPA team will work to assist you.

My heart is with our SDSCPA community,

Principal Farson
