The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) will be administered on Wednesday, November 2nd. It will be administered to all 10th grade students at no cost, and to 11th grade students for a small fee of $15. This fee is payable to our Finance Office via cash or check. The last day for 11th graders to sign up in the finance office is Friday Oct. 28th.
The PSAT/NMSQT measures verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills, developed over many years, both in and out of school. For 11th grade students, the PSAT/NMSQT provides several benefits, including the opportunity to compete for scholarships including the prestigious National Merit Scholarship Program.
On average, students who take the PSAT/NMSQT more than once have the tendency to score higher on the SAT than those who don't.
