Up Next! Session 5 of San Diego Youth Science: Chemistry of Ocean Acidification

In the next SDYS session, student research teams will gain understanding into the cause and effect relationship between fossil fuel emissions and the environment. Student research teams will create chemical reactions exploring acids and bases to discover how ocean acidification affects shell-building organisms. Upper-grade student teams will design their own experiments using mussel shells and various chemical mixtures to quantify changes in shell mass over time.
