Safety: We have a special opportunity to save lives through the gun violence restraining order program that our City Attorney has championed. If you become aware of a young person or an adult who is going through difficult times and that person has access to a gun, you can get assistance removing the weapon temporarily. The program is relatively new, and we are working hard to educate the entire city about the value of the initiative. The district asks students to remain vigilant with regard to our “See Something, Say Something” campaign. The safety and security of our students is the district’s top priority. There are many ways for students to report safety concerns such as telling an adult on campus, using the “report bullying” link on our school website or reporting illegal activity through sdcrimestoppers.org.
