Builders Club

Builders Club meets weekly. We focus school-wide service. We are sponsored by PB Kiwanis and develop leaders through service. Our board of directors has planned a year of activities to help students learn how to design a service project. Our 2018-2019 projects include: 

  • BeachFest - booth at our annual street fair
  • Storefront Teen Shelter Dinners - sign-up to cook and deliver a home-made dinner for teens and night-counselors at the Storefront Teen Shelter
  • Pernicano's Spooky Spaghetti Dinner - student volunteer to help at Kiwanis' fundraiser
  • Haunted House - Builders Club and Project Eliminate to end NeoNatal Tetanus campaign
  • Food for Thought - Food and book pantry for students and families that need a little hlep
  • Socks for the Seasons  - Builders Club, Storefront Teens, and We Help Two's prosthetic project
  • Crafts for a Cause - Builders Club, Storefront, We Help Two, and students' choice causes
  • Hope in the City Toy Drive - a legacy donation drive started by Ciara Gray and continued by her family each year, benefiting families in City Heights, San Diego
  • PAWS Doggy Bag project - PAWS/Humane Society 
  • Leukemia Lymphoma Pennies for Patients - a legacy donatino drive by Khouri Evans
  • Walk and Roll to School
  • Beach Clean-ups (Tourmaline to PB Point is our adopted beach through ILACSD)
  • Kiwanis Take-over - our students take over the Kiwanis meeting at Broken Yolk

Anyone can join anytime. We meet Wednesdays at lunch, upstairs in the east end of the library. Students can bring their lunch and eat with us. Board Members and Commitees working on a project meet on Mondays in the Builders Club Office as well as any other days as needed to take action on their project or to plan the Wednesday meetings.
