San Diego Unified's School Choice Enrollment application period for the 2018-19 school year will begin on October 2, 2017 and end on November 13, 2017.
During this window, parents will have the opportunity to apply for enrollment at up to three San Diego Unified schools other than their neighborhood school. Applications can be submitted online (preferred method) at www.sandiegounified.org/school-choice-application or in person at the new Family Welcome and Enrollment Center (Ed Center, Annex 12). Families who are new to the district or have recently moved to a new residence within district boundaries can apply for Choice at any time. Students who will be attending their neighborhood school in 2018-19 need not complete a Choice application.
School Choice is open to families residing within the San Diego Unified School District attendance boundaries, as well as those families living in other San Diego County school districts. Students are selected for enrollment at a Choice school through an unbiased, random, computerized lottery system, utilizing a priority system. Enrollment through the Choice program is based on space availability at each grade level and therefore is not guaranteed.
The Family Welcome and Enrollment Center is located at the Eugene Brucker Education Center, 4100 Normal Street, Annex 12, San Diego, CA 92103. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Telephone: 619-260-2410. Website: www.sandiegounified.org/neighborhood-schools-and-enrollment-options.
