  • Congratulations to Mackenzie Grooms, one of only six recipients in San Diego County to receive the Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship this year. She was honored at their luncheon at Petco Park last week, will receive $5,000 towards college next year, and was given a laptop thanks to Computers 2 Kids San Diego. Congratulations Mackenzie!

  • 10th and 11th Grade families got a glimpse into the College Admissions process when our Counseling department hosted a "Mock Admissions" evening. Through a workshop and college admissions staff, they learned about the application process and what the admissions departments discuss when they are reviewing applications. Educational evening!
  • Congratulations to Claire Gianola, Laura Torre, and Juliette Tran who were selected and participated in this year's Rotary Youth Leadership Award program at Camp Idyllwild. Over 250 high school juniors from SD and Imperial Counties came together for this year's theme of "Unite the Future, Create the Change." Our thanks to John Gartner, RYLA Chairperson and the La Jolla Sunrise Rotary.
  • Student team members Owen Getz, Jade Muckler, Robert Huffstutler, Alex Branch, Alexis Vergnet, and Nyla Hekier earned a first place prize for building a prototype solution for the new transit station at UCSD campus.Congratulate them when you see them!
  • Gracie competed in the Varsity Optionals level. She placed in all four events (Vault 3rd, Bars 3rd, Beam 4th, and Floor 6th), and took 3rd place All Around. Go Mission Bay!
  • Mission Bay High was honored to host the Chinese Bridge Competition in March. Christopher Santy, Nora Dunphy, and Jade Someda participated in the Chinese Bridge Competition. They all showed their advanced level of Chinese. Please congratulate them!
  • The entire team did really well and this year, the team won 4 ribbons!
  • UC San Diego and Mission Bay High school paired together for a day of community service at MBHS on Sunday January 20, 2019. In honor of Dr. King, volunteers worked together building gardens, improving classrooms, and creating spaces that better the academic experience of MBHS students.
