Dear Montgomery Community Members,
As a San Diego Unified School District educator for the past 18 years, I value the role that public schools play in making a difference in the lives of children and our community.
After teaching Science, English Language Arts, and Humanities for six years at Mann Middle School, I became the Science Prep Teacher at Johnson Elementary Maget for STEM. This experience led to a new leadership position as a magnet technology resource teacher with the San Diego Unified Magnet Programs Office. During that time, I completed my Master's in Education for Math, Science, and Technology at the University of San Diego.
In my role as the Vice Principal and International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Rossevelt Middle School from 2011-2014, I had the privilege of coaching teachers to support and develop inquiry-based teaching practices. In addition, I have worked with with both special education teachers and general education teachers to ensure differentiated teaching strategies are utilized to support students with a range of learning abilities. Over the last several years, I have led professional development as the Office of School Innovations Program Manager by supporting teachers in the development of interdisciplinary STEAM units at Montgomery.
My goal as an instructional leader is to inspire students to achieve to their greatest potential by providing opportunities for children to be creative and connect learning to their own personal interests. I am prepared to support Montgomery STEAM Magnet's instructional program while fostering leadership in others in order to ensure the success of all students. I look forward to engaging teachers and students in rigorous STEAM curriculum and working with the Montgomery community to ensure that we continue to trhive as a quality neighborhood school.
Looking forward to meeting you and working with our Montgomery Community!
Sarah Trueblood, Interim Principal
