Dear Montgomery Families,
This Friday, January 25th marks the close of the first semester. Semester 1 grades will be mailed home to parents and guardians in early February. These grades are also accessible in PowerSchool on February 1st. Our grading timeline for the school year can be found here.
At Montgomery we strive to create the conditions for all students to be successful in school. We have aligned our promotion requirements to mirror high school expectations and provide many supports within and outside of the school day. The home-school connection is critical for student success. Parents and guardians are highly encouraged to engage with our counselors and teachers if there is a question or concern regarding his or her child’s performance in school. The following is a reminder of our promotion requirements:
- GPA of 2.0 or higher
- No Fs (Failing) for academics or U (Unsatisfactory) for citizenship
- No more than one suspension a year
- All tardies and absences must be cleared through Saturday School or After School Detention.
Wednesday, January 23rd – Student dismissal at 1:27 p.m.
Homework Club – Takes place on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm and is open to all students free of charge. Parents must contact Leslie Kehl at firstname.lastname@example.org or 858-397-6600 to reserve a spot for his or her child in Homework Club. Students are expected to arrive on time, stay for the full hour, and come prepared by bringing assignments to work on.

You are invited to an educational conference Montgomery will host this Saturday January 26th called, Bridges to our Future. Your child will cross several “bridges” during his or her kindergarten through post secondary educational career. Navigating this educational process as a parent requires you to make important key decisions. Come learn about important topics in education and resources that are available to you. More information can be found here. Breakfast, lunch, and child care will be provided, as well as Spanish and Vietnamese interpretation. This event is specifically for Kearny Cluster Families, but all are welcome. We hope to see you there!
Make it a great week!
