The 2018 Nike Portland XC Invite wasl held on Saturday, September 29th, at Portland Meadows in Portland, Oregon. The meet drew over 225 middle and high schools and 6000+ athletes from eight states. It was a great day for all involved, and a great day for our sport. The meet is a season highlight for teams from all over the Western U.S.  The Top 7 runners from each team (Boys & Girls) earned their way to Portland by running well in the first 4 invitationals of the season.

Our Girls Team won the Division II title by beating Northwest HS (Seattle, WA) and 24 other schools from around the West and Northwest.  Our girls team consisted of Isabella Duldulao (7th palce), Tea Akiaten (10th place), Adriana Leal (17th), Vivian Wu (28th), Alexis "Bones" Parker (53rd), Audrey Pamaran (99th), and Gabrielle Sparks (102nd).

Our Boys also won the Division II title by beating another California team, Warren HS (Downey, CA), and 26 other teams from around the West and Northwest.  Our boys team consisted of Xavier Liberty (4th place), David Millan (13th place), Ian Beck (18th place), Alex Jacoby (52nd), Joshua Sunnanonta (56th), Alan Ta (110th), and Dat Mong (130th).

It was an incredible experience for the team.  Our Marauders Cross Country runners have worked hard all Summer and into the fall.  We have our sights set on another Eastern League Title, a Top 3 Finish at the CIF Championships, and perhaps earning a spot at the California State XC Championships.
