The Marston Promotion Ceremony is typically held at the Clairemont High School Football Stadium on the last day of school in the morning A brief promotion rehearsal is usually scheduled a day or two before promotion day.
Please help by honoring these expectations:
Please carpool and park at Clairemont High School. The parking lot at the corner of Ute Drive and Waco Street is often used by another school who is using Marston for their promotion ceremony.
Students should arrive to the Marston campus by 8:40 a.m. on the last day of school. Students will be walking over to CHS shortly after school starts. Late arriving students may be excluded from the ceremony.
Students should dress nicely, similar to 8th Grade Exhibition. The school dress code applies for the entire ceremony. Violations may result in exclusion from the ceremony or having to wear a Marston t-shirt over the student’s clothing. Per the Marston dress code, the following clothing is prohibited: mid driffs, spaghetti straps, short skirts/dresses/shorts, low cut tops or clothing with open backs or sides.
Because the ceremony is on artificial turf, heels are strongly discouraged as they pose a safety risk. Flats and wedges are encouraged.
Parents may leave with their children upon conclusion of the ceremony. Students not leaving with parents will return to school after the ceremony and will be dismissed at the end of the school day, usually a minimum day on that day.
Balloons are not permitted in the stadium as they obstruct the view of others. Balloons should be left in vehicles.
Noisemakers are not permitted as they deny parents the opportunity to hear the speeches and the names of promoting students.
Leave Clairemont High School cleaner upon exit than it was upon entry.
Thank you for making this day positive and fun for all Marston families.
Policies are reviewed annually and subject to change without notice. Please contact the Marston Main Office with questions.
