Principal Selection Process (Update)

Hello Madison High School Community Members,

I hope you are all doing well.  I am writing to provide an update on our plan to fill the Madison High School Principal position.  As many of you may have heard, I have decided to repost the Principal position.  The reason for this decision was to ensure that the Madison community interview panel has the opportunity to interview several quality candidates.

Interested candidates who have not applied, will have an opportunity to apply for this position until Monday, October 22nd.  On Monday, October 29th, the area superintendent team in collaboration with human resources will participate in Level 1 interviews.  Based on those interviews, I will invite quality candidates to the Community Panel Interviews on Tuesday, November 6th.  At the conclusion of our community panel interviews, the panel will recommend candidate(s) to Superintendent Cindy Marten.  On Wednesday, November 7, the panel’s recommended candidate(s) will participate in a final interview and instructional walkthrough with Superintendent Marten.

If the community panel decides not to recommend any of the candidates, I will collaborate with the panel to determine next steps in reposting the position.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Interim Principal Dr. Carol Whaley, Robin Peters and Stacy Simpson for their incredible leadership during this time of transition.  Additionally, I would like to thank the entire Madison School Community for your patience.

With appreciation,

Sofia Freire, Ed.D.
