San Diego Unified School District participates in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Our schools have agreed to maintain the ethical standards created by the CIF and to abide by CIF regulations. Participation in the interscholastic athletics, governed by the CIF, is a privilege and may be negatively affected by student behavior or academic performance.
Prior to beginning practice, students must do the following:
- Complete the online athletic eligibility participation packet (NOTE: Use Internet Explorer or Google Chrome)
- Have a physical examination by a licensed physician, fill out the district form (downloadable from the athleticclearance.com website) and signed by the physician; upload the completed form to the athletic clearance website and return a hard copy of this signed form to the Athletic Director. You must complete all of these steps to receive a sport clearance card before you can tryout for any sport.
- Student athletes are encouraged to purchase an ASB card for $25 from the financial secretary during preregistration at the Warhawk on August 16 and 17.
- Student athletes also must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher in both academics and citizenship in order to participate.
