Parents are encouraged to order their senior’s cap and gown now, if they have not already done so. The cap and gown and other graduation accessories can be ordered from San Diego Graduate Supply at www.sdgrad.com or call (619) 440-5426. A cap and gown is required for the graduation ceremony. It is provided by the San Diego Unified School District (gown) at no charge and Madison’s ASB (cap and tassel). Graduates will need to return their gown after graduation to receive their diploma.
Graduation rehearsal is on Tuesday, June 13, 1 pm, in the gym (students must be here at 12:30 pm). Participation in rehearsal is mandatory. Students should not bring their cap and gown to rehearsal. Visitors or relatives are not allowed on campus during rehearsal.
Commencement is Wednesday, June 14, 1:30 pm, in the stadium. Graduates are to report to the gym by 12:30 pm sharp for graduation. Families are reminded to account for traffic delays into the stadium area for the commencement ceremony. Gates open to the stadium at 12:30 pm. No balloons, signs, banners, posters or horns are allowed into the stadium. Balloons should be left in the car or checked in at the ticket booth at both the home and visitor locations. We cannot be responsible for damaged items. Students are not to bring personal belongings such as coats, purses, flowers, cell phones, cameras, or leis of any kind into the stadium for the commencement ceremony. These items will be checked in at the gym upon arrival to the gym for the commencement ceremony. Families are advised not to wait until the last minute to clear indebtedness, absences, missed homework and failing grades.
Students who have been suspended in their senior year must submit a letter of appeal by Wednesday, May 17, per district procedure.
