Welcome to Transitional Kindergarten! We have a fun and productive year ahead of us and I cannot wait to get started! I look forward to meeting all of you and am sure that we will have a fantastic school year. This letter contains information about the things your child will be doing this year.
Today we try to teach the whole child: that means we provide activities that develop the mind, body and spirit. We know that until people feel good about themselves, they cannot feel good about others and cannot learn and develop to their potential.
In addition to food, shelter and clothing, people need fun, success and love. So laugh with your child, tell them that you like something that they have done and tell them that you love them everyday.
Occasionally your child will bring home notes about special class activities. Please read them and be sure your child knows that you have. Any message that must be signed and returned will be in your child’s daily folder. Be sure to thank your child for being a good messenger.
Parents and grandparents are wanted and welcomed to help in the class. Please see me, if interested, and sign up for a weekly hour (or more) of fun. If you cannot sign up to volunteer on a regular basis, come when you can. At least plan to visit the classroom twice during the year.
I will request a conference concerning your child at least once during the school year. Anytime you have a question or need a conference, please feel free to call or email me for an appointment.
I am looking forward to a wonderful and exciting year!
