ASCA Counseling Corner

I'd like to start this update by thanking everyone for welcoming me to your school! It has been a great couple of months and I have loved learning about the school. I am working alongside teachers, staff, parents and students to create a comprehensive school counseling program for Lindbergh Schweitzer Elementary.

Looking ahead, here are the upcoming services additionally being provided for students:
  • Second Step Classroom Lessons K-6 (Core Counseling Curriculum)
  • Academic Small Group Counseling (6-8 weeks Jan/Feb)
  • Social Skills Group Counseling (6-8 weeks Jan/Feb)
  • Individual Counseling
  • Referral forms for Individual/group counseling
If you have any questions, comments or concerns please feel free to contact at phone (ext. 2235) or in the Counseling Office (West Campus). See brochure

Tips for Parents:

Help your child schedule "down time" each day after homework, chores, and regular after school routines. Activities can include watching television, listening to music, outdoor playtime, or whatever your child likes to do to help him/her de-stress. Remember that children need to recharge their batteries every day, as do adults. Scheduling "down" or "relaxation time" each day will help to ensure that overload and burn-out do not occur, as well as to help your son or daughter be mentally prepared to face a new day.
