Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

In an effort to improve school performance and attendance records, we are happy to announce a new program at La Jolla High School. Saturday Academy (“Core Academy: Supporting Student Achievement Success/CASSAS”) will be offered once per month and students will be able to participate in a variety of activities, which will vary each session. By attending one Saturday Academy session for four hours, a student can recuperate one full day of an absence and up to five tardies. Students should bring materials to catch up on any missed work due to absences, if time permits. Examples of activities include but are not limited to:

-Academic support                                     -Community service

-Artistic development                       -Guest speakers

-Study skills coaching                       -Test preparation

-Field trips                                        -And more!

The next session is:

Saturday, April 21  from 8am-12pm

Student will report to 500 building

Parents/Guardians: In case of emergency, please contact Maria Medina in the attendance office at (858) 454-3081 x2203. Students will only receive attendance credit for attending the entire four hour session. Please notify Mrs. Medina ahead of time if there are any health concerns or disability to ensure that the school may be proactive in accommodating them to be more successful.
