Join us every May as we transform the LJES campus with beautiful Méxican papel picados andpaper flowersinto a fiesta celebrating our rich heritage of “Many Friends, One World.” Dating back to 1987, the Amigos Dinner was originally created to build community between students and their families from Logan Elementary and those from La Jolla Elementary. Barrio Logan parents offered to prepare homemade Mexican dinners and share their history through cultural entertainment, music, games, and activities. Continuing in this tradition, the PTO continues to host this beloved family friendly event annually.
Dinner, game bracelets, and concession tickets go on sale in April and are available through the PTO Store for a limited time, after which a handful of tickets will be available for purchase the “day of.” Although the event is free to all LJES students and their families, entertainment, food and game prizes are underwritten by ticket sales.
¡Unete a nuestro equipo! Join the team! As with all PTO sponsored events, the Amigos Fiesta relies heavily on volunteers. Please contact your Amigos Classroom Representative to see how you can volunteer. With your help we can once again make this fun community building event a huge success!
The Amigos Fiesta is intended for LJES families only. Younger siblings are welcome to attend only if supervised by an adult. Older siblings are encouraged to become volunteers and run the game booths. Muchas Gracias!
