Students within the SDSU service area (i.e. all PLTW High Schools south of State Highway 56 in San Diego County and in Imperial County) who select to pursue an engineering degree at SDSU’s College of Engineering. Additionally, students must meet the following requirements:
1. Complete at least 2 Project Lead The Way Engineering Pathway courses at their high school with a minimum grade of “B”.
2. At least 1 of the 2 Project Lead The Way Engineering Pathway courses MUST be taken before their senior year.
Students Must Also Complete The Following:
Create a STEM Premier Accountbefore they register for the program.
Register with the PLTW Affiliate Institute as early as their freshman year. ALL students must register by June 30thof their junior year to be considered.
o Class of 2017 & 2018

Apply to SDSUvia CSUMentor by November 30thof their senior year. Students MUST select
one of the following College of Engineering Majors:
1. Aerospace Engineering 2. Civil Engineering
3. Computer Engineering 4. Construction Engineering
5. Electrical Engineering6. Environmental Engineering
7. Mechanical Engineering.
Submit their SDSU RedID # to the Affiliate Institute by December 2nd of their senior year. This can be done via the following link: http://www.pltwca.net/go/SDSURedID
Submit a portfolio of their engineering work using STEM Premier by January 30th of their senior year of high school that will be evaluated by the Affiliate Director.
Attain a 3.0 GPA college-weighted.
Complete all CSU A-G course requirements, including 4 years of Math.
Take the SAT or ACT by October of their senior year and send results to SDSU’s Admissions Office.
Pass or clear the English and Math requirements.
To clear remediation requirements, freshmen must present proof of one of the following in English and Mathematics:
Score of 550 or higher in Evidence
Based Reading and Writing
Score of 570 or higher Mathematics
Score of 500 or higher Critical
Score of 550 or higher Mathematics
Score of 22 or higher English
Score of 23 or higher Mathematics
EPT and ELM
EPT score of 147 or higher
ELM score of 50 or higher
"Standard Exceeded" or "Ready for
"Exempt" or "Ready for college-level
Standard met: Conditionally ready
for college level English. Must
complete the specific senior
Must complete an approved year
long, senior-year mathematics
experience with intermediate algebra

Students must pledge NOT to switch out of their engineering major during their first year of college.
