SUMMER STUDENT WORKER PROGRAM 2019
Kearny has been made aware of a summer work program for students aged 16 through 21 years old through the PORT of San Diego. The PORT of San Diego is looking for students who want to work this summer and learn new job skills. In addition to new job skills students will learn how to interact with customers, use office equipment and other skills associated with the different departments within the Port. Students will be assigned to work inside an office building or outside in a park setting.
To apply to this program you must have been a full time student in the spring of 2019. Signups are in person at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the PORT Administration Building located at 3165 Pacific Highway, 92101. A lottery drawing will be held at 11:30 a.m. and you must be present if your name is drawn. Please bring a State or School I.D. to the lottery. If selected you will complete a placement card, eligibility for employment, tax forms and brief orientation.
Selected students must be able to provide a valid work permit signed by parents and high school administrators by Friday, June 7, 2019. You must be able to work a minimum of four hours per day or up to eight hours between the hours of 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday June 20 until August 22, 2019.
